The megatall tower in new action movie Skyscraper is totally iconic.

This building is featured in the movie the skyscraper realeased in 2018 . The star of the movie is Dwayne Johnson.

Here is the plot of the movie:

A security expert must infiltrate a burning skyscraper, 225 stories above ground, when his family are trapped inside by criminals.

Let's go back to the tower now. The Pearl was designed to reach 1,066 metres in height, making it the world's tallest building if it were real . The mega building is described as "a marvel of modern engineering and architecture ".

During the design process, the team stumbled upon an ancient Chinese myth, The Dragon's Pearl, which provided a source of inspiration for the concept. Across Asia, the dragon symbolises strength and courage, echoing the character of The Pearl's owner and developer in the movie.

The resulting tower's curving glass form resembles a dragon, snaked at the bottom then reaching skyward, holding the spherical "pearl" in its mouth at the top.

But will the Pearl ever be built ? In a close future, there are no plans to build the Pearl. However, some mega tall buildings ,similar to the pearl are under construction around the world.

The Shimao Shenzhen-Hong Kong International Centre is a skyscraper under construction in Shenzhen, China. The 668m,building will be completed in 2024 and will become the
tallest skyscraper in China.

Dubai Creek Tower will be the tallest man made structure when it will be completed in 2020. The 1 km tall tower is under construction in Dubai.
